Description :
Soil erosion in northern Shaanxi region has been greatly affected by human activities. On the one hand, newly occurred soil and water loss has been observed due to accelerated soil erosion caused by irrational human economic activities (excessive reclamation, mining). On the other hand, great benefits have been brought into play due to vast amount of sediment trapping in watershed management as a result of engineering measures, afforestation and grass planting.
