Description :
This methodological essay reviews the field of land-surface quantification in terms of its rationale and objectives, applications, cognate disciplines, current practice, and research agenda. Recent advances wrought by computer technology and mass-produced digital elevation data have revitalized geomorphometry. The discipline's state-of-art now includes some 60 discernible topics and activities, for which the A. suggests a en-fold organization.
