Land use and landscape change in the Colorado mountains. I. Theory, scale, and pattern

Description :
Residential and commercial land development in Colorado is examined at three scales: regional (net-like pattern of private lands), landscape (spread of ranchettes), and site (e.g. building on ridge tops). This development is now driven by services, recreation and the information businesses. More than in the past, the current activities fragment land ownership and disturb nearby land set aside as wild. - (DWG)
