Towards an environmental planning approach in urban industrial siting and operations in Kenya. The case of Eldoret Town

Auteurs :

Description :
Based on field work and documentation, the book provides an overall examination of Kenya's experience with urban industrial siting practices. It discusses the salient features of Kenya's industrial development policies, planning, and environmental legislation and critically examines the industrial siting factors, and socio-economic and environmental impacts resulting from locational decisions taken in the past. The study has been built on the premise that economic growth cannot be sustained long term if it is ecologically and environmentally disruptive. -(AGD)
