Late Vistulian and Holocene development of the North Pomeranian river valleys and the influence of South Baltic neotectonics

Perspectives in coastal geomorphology of Western Crete, Greece

Description :
The Late Vistulian and Holocene geomorphological development of the Pomeranian Phase marginal zone in Poland is a product of glacial, glacio-fluvial, fluvial and eolian processes interacting with eustatic submergence and tectonic adjustments. Most of the river systems exhibit sediment sequences and depositional/erosional forms that relate to this geomorphological history. The modern drainage system, to a large extent, is dominated by this development. Surimposed on this history, neotectonic adjustments may have caused modifications in characteristics of the river channels and valleys or in the depositional sequences.
