Autoplastic gravity structures in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern (Germany)

Last ice sheet dynamics and deglaciation in the North European Plain

Description :
According to the literature and personal observation, the deformation of sedimentary bodies is generally associated with valley slopes and upland flanks (end moraines, push moraines) and is usually referred to as slope deformation. Under mollisol conditions cryogenesis plays an important role, but the sediment flow and the laterally directed gravitative component associated with bedding and relief conditions must be included in the analysis. According to current observation data from the investigated area, the faults in unconsolidated rocks represent dip-slip faults.
