Global economic developments since the 70s caused structural and regional problems in western industrial countries. This study investigates concepts and experiences of reconstructing and solving regional and local crises of the Swedish industry. Its aims are: to present crises and problems of the Swedish industry; to examine by examples in which way and by which actors restructuring regeneration was accomplished, and to identify key elements of a successful policy of economic regeneration. - (IH)
