The objective of this study is to provide an insight into the consequences of households developments for the level and the direction of retail expenditures in post-war neighbourhoods built between 1945 and 1970. In order to gain this insight, geographic research into processes of population change in these early post-war neighbourhoods was linked with planning research into changes in the population threshold commanded by retailing facilities. - (AGD)
