Description :
This short paper is based in part on the information available on the actual functioning and composition of the soil community. The soil biota activity, which utilizes the organic matter for biosynthesis and maintenance at different levels of organization, has a considerable effect on arid regions. This activity is stongly affected by abiotic factors which are highly unstable especially in a desert ecosystem.
