Since 1985 long term investigations evaluating the effects of agricultural management practices and environment influence on soils are carried out at 132 agricuotural areas in Bavaria. Aim of the programme is to register changes of soil at various locations. Investigations include chemical, physical and biological characteristics of soils, atmospherical, fertilizers and pesticide input, output by crop export, dislocation, soil erosion and changes in plant associations.
