Description :
Laboratory analyses of the erosion surfaces below the gravel cover attest that the pediments were formed in an arid morphoclimatic environment with selective weathering and erosion. It is not possible to connect the pediments levels across divides and to construct a regional correlation pattern. Climatic or tectonic eksystemic changes of a cyclic nature would have affected the entire region in a similar direction, but in some areas of pediment concentration the A. finds two, in others three different main pediment levels. Eksystemic changes of climate or tectonic activity are not the only possible causes for alternations of pedimentation and dissection.
