Ecotourism and indigenous peoples in the resource frontier of the Ecuadorian Amazon

Auteur :
WESCHE, R.

Description :
Lowland Quichua and Huaronani Indians of Napo Province, Ecuador, initially were threatened by ecotourism when it arrived in 1969. But in 1989 they began to control and manage their own ecotourism projects. As a strategy of local and regional development, many benefits accrue to native peoples' involvement in this activity. - (DWG)
