In his introduction to his study, the A. produces a number of statistics to illustrate the declining economic importance of farming in the Federal Republic. These are followed by a brief analysis of the current framework conditions, which shows that apart from the perfectly justified demand for the return to agrarian surplus production, the demand for methods of production which will conserve our resources together with forms of animal husbandry suited to the individual species, is gaining ground.―(L'A.).
