The article is restricted to an analysis of the adjustment of living space in dwellings to the needs of households occupying multi-family cooperative houses. The investigation has been based on information elicited through interviews of the inhabitants of buildings administrated by the cooperative « Anin ». To define the types and needs of households the A. applied the periodization of the life cycle as developed by P. Hooimeijer, W. A. V. Clark, and F. M. Dieleman. - (DG)
