Coups and constitutions : drawing a political geography of Fiji

Auteur :
OVERTON, J.

Description :
The paper suggests that there is no simple core-periphery structure in Fiji, just as there is no simple east-west divide. These may be important parameters, but they offer incomplete explanations of structure and change. Spatial inequalities are not simply the result of capitalism but something wider and more complex. Social change has been crucial and the political dimension is central to understanding spatial differentiation.
