Remarks on dating and chronostratigraphy of Late Vistulian and Holocene aeolian episodes in Middle Poland

Late Vistulian (= Weichselian) and Holocene aeolian phenomena in central and northern Europe

Description :
The 14C dates from Mid-Polish dune fossil soils show in graphs clusters which disagrae with thermal and moisture optima during the Late Vistulian and Holocene. The comparison of 14C-dates frequency distribution from dune fossil soils and from lacustrine and boggy deposits shows very distinct differences. Results of radiocarbon measurements of fossil soils in dunes should be very carefully applied to the construction of chronostratigraphic schemes.
