Polygenetic soils of Australia and their typical pedofeatures

Geomorphology of the tropics with special reference to South Asia and Africa

Description :
The aim of the paper is to present three methods of evaluating data, which are helpful in throwing light on the polygenetic nature of soils by examining pedofeatures. Possible indicators of polygenetic soils are : the stratigraphic order of soil characteristics, evidence of intensive chemical weathering in regions where very little weathering occurs today, and the presence of various soil features which can only develop under contradictory conditions.
