Harmonic tidal predictions along the Belgian Coast
Proceedings Workshop Sea Level Variations, Amsterdam
Auteur :VAN CAUWENBERGHE, C.
Description :
The classical harmonic tidal prediction model has been applied to the Belgian coast. To date 3 models have been set up, the similarities in the programmes of the 3 models are mainly related to the calculation of the equilibrium phases of the different constituents and also to the choice of the nodal corrections. The evaluation of the different models on HW/LW levels and hourly heights indicate that the quality of results is gradually improving. The Coastal Hydrographic Service in Ostend is now able to make its own tidal predictions for the Belgian coast.
