The physical, chemical, mineralogical and geochemical characteristics of Asian long-range eolian dust, the dust flux in the Late Pleistocene and the Holocene, and the implications of Asian long-range eolian dust in terrestrial and atmospheric environments in Japan and Korea are discussed in this paper.
