New sites in the Vistula valley between Cracow and Niepołomice were discussed and 7 generations of Holocene meanders was distinguished, which cut off in 8 000, 6 700-6 200, 5 400-5 200, 4 400-4 000, 3 000, 2 200-2 100 BP and Little Ice Age. A clear generation change is also shown by the parameters and shape of paleomeanders. There also occurs a variety of mineral deposits filling the paleochannels. It is connected with climatic-vegetation changes and the human impact in the Vistula basin. - (GD)
