The occupational perspective of geographers and planners had drastically changed over the past decades. Whereas they used to operate mainly on the distinctly defined primary labour markets, labour markets that were directly related to their education, they have now also started operating on a number of secondary markets. As a result, the occupational perspective has become more diffuse. Not only in the Netherlands but also in other countries there is a process going on in which the fact that someone in highly educated and flexible in his or her association with colleagues at work, gradually becomes of more importance than the subject the person is graduated. - (AGD)
