Description :
This study aims to show the intrinsic complexity of industrial change through a case study on the clothing industry. The focus is upon outward processing, the subcontracting of making up operations by European firms in developing countries. Therefore the structural changes in international trade are described and also the changes in the relations between retailers and manufacturers. Besides the A. discusses and analyses the firm strategies in the Netherlands (the Northern Part and Groningen), Belgium (Western Flanders), France (the Choletais) and the United Kingdom (the East Midlands). - (AGD)
