Description :
This paper concerns the description and preliminary results from two complementary techniques developed for measuring soil erosion under different land uses in a study of forest fire impact on soil erosion and water quality in the Agueda basin, north-central Portugal. The techniques comprise a new micro-profiling device, termed a soil erosion bridge and a new wash trap designed for use both with and without bounded plots. Preliminary results are also presented and discussed.
