Description :
Analysis of very much more comprehensive data sets has allowed the AA. to calculate with greater accuracy prehistoric rates of sediment accumulation in the swamp, and hence to infer erosion rates in the contributing catchment. In addition they have monitored the current rate of sediment loss from the catchment, enabling comparisons to be made between prehistoric and contemporary rates of erosion.
