Linear dune trends and wind directions in the northern Cape Province, South Africa

Four linear dune fields in the northern Cape were examined and their trends related to prevailing wind patterns. Evidence is shown for the retention of direction from previous wind patterns, as well as the influence of the coriolis deflection. - (AJC)
