Due to the demise of COMECON and the Soviet Union, the energy and agricultural sectors of the Hungarian economy are undergoing dramatic transformation. This requires not only a geographic shift from East to West, but also a sectoral shift. The utilisation of natural resources is not helped by the political and economic changes. - (JS)
