The aim of the research reported in this paper was to estimate the soil and nutrient loss in the catchment area of the Örvényes-Séd stream. Using GIS (EPIC-EROTOP) method first erotopes were deliniated for the investigation area then these erotopes were further divided according to land use and soil types. Soil loss estimation was carried out with runoff conditions in the catchment area. The soil protection value of the different crops was also calculated. - (ZK)
