This paper gives a chronologicalpresentation of the transformation of the Hungarian agriculture between 1990 and 1997. Due to the political and economic transition of the country after 1990 the agriculture just like the whole economy became dominated by private ownership. The radical decrease of state and cooperative ownership has generated substantial changes in the land use and agricultural production of the country. - (ZK)
