The regional mobility of elderly persons. Recent results of migration research

Elderly persons are only involved in the migration process in the Federal Republic of Germany to a relatively limited extend. Nevertheless, their mobility behaviour has a very selective nature in spatial terms. Whereas densily populated areas and particularly the large cities in those areas are having to accept a significant loss of elderly persons due to migration, rural areas being especially preferred by those in the retirement years. - (L'A.).
