Traffic problems are causing a considerable reduction in the well-beeing of people living or staying in cities. All in all it can be expected that the pressure caused by problems of urban development will grow as soon as sector specific and demand-orientated measures will be taken against the pressure of traffic. This is the starting point of the field of research called « Urban Development and Traffic » whose model projects try to put concepts of an integrated urban development and traffic planning into effect.―(l'A.).
