Description :
In this study, lichen thalli were measured with the following aims:1) to odentify those environmental factors (other than elapsed time) which affect lichen growth. This was achieved by studying maximumlichen diameters in relation to factors such as boulder size, aspect, inclination, stability and the proximity to semi-permanent snow-patches and streams. 2) to determine a time-scale over with rock glacier development took place. 3) to interpret the palaeoenvironmental conditions during rock glacier development.
