Description :
In this paper, some examples of passive marginal landscapes, taken principally from tropical and other extra-glacial areas (southern Africa, southern Australia, South America and western Africa), are used to provide a comparison with published observations drawn from glacierized areas. Despite the differences in tectonic and geological settings, such a comparison may assist in the identification of pre-glacial forms and throw some new light on the likely course of denudation in areas subject to multiple glaciation during the Quaternary.
