This paper simulates how the shapes of the hypsometric curves change through mountain building resulting from concurrent tectonics and denudation. Next, it discusses the relationship of the hypsometric curve to the stage of a geomorphic cycle. Finally, the geomorphological implications of the hypsometric integral are examined.
