Description :
This paper describes the flood geomorphology and hydrology of two large and extremely flood-prone rivers namely the Narmada and Tapi, in an environment typical of the monsoonal tropics, with periodic high-magnitude rainfall. The large floods in these two rivers are an example of the interplay between meteorology and drainage basin characteristics that provides central India with the most intense flood phenomena in seasonal tropics.
