Description :
This paper suggests that the main task of periglacial geomorphology : remains that of developing a better knowledge of existing periglacial geosystems. This includes and intensified research on a sequence of four topics : 1) on periglacial processes, particularly on a physical basis; 3) on the relationship between processes and landforms; 3) on the information value of fossil periglacial landforms on paleo-climatic reconstructions and 4) on the prediction of future developments in periglacial areas in the context of projected global change.
