A continuum of interactions between hydroclimate, landscape characteristics and time
Auteur :SANDSTRÖM, K.
Description :
Most forest hydrologists agree that deforestation leads to augment groundwater recharge and dry-season flow but in the semi-arid tropics people state the very opposite. This paper presents a model which attempts to suggest not only that both opinions in groundwater response to deforestation are correct, but also that they complement each other if the diversity in land management, hydroclimate, and landscape characteristics are taken into consideration. The possibility of closing the dichotomy of opinion between people and professionals is discussed.
