Description :
The geomorphology of the central Coastal Range, a north-south trending horst along the west coast of northern Calabria, is governed largely by major faults, fault scarps and the distribution of principal rock types, as well as by a variety of slope processes operative in a Mediterranean climate. The AA. provide a detailed description of the geomorphologic elements; however, their effort was dedicated mostly to the fans because their history may offer clues for the understanding of the recent and ancient geomorphologic evolution of this mountain front.
