Late glacial and Holocene vegetation history at Poets Hill lake, western Tasmania
Auteur :COLHOUN, E.A.
Description :
This paper will describe the late glacial and Holocene pollen and vegetation record from Poets Hill Lake and compare the results with the other sites from varying altitudes in the same region. This comparison suggests that the development of pollen/vegetation associations was time transgressive with altitude during the late glacial when climatic influences and migration rates were important, and that the mosaic of vegetation communities became more complex during the Holocene because of adjustment to or control by local ecological factors.
