Nowadays, floods are no longer controlled by nature. There are human factors such as urbanization, land use, and irrigation systems etc. These factors caused more complex flooding in the Chao Phraya plain. Bangkok and vicinity, S of Chao Phraya delta has flooding every year, because some areas are below the mean sea level. The A. presents the factors of flooding and proposals of flood protection.
