Quantitative sediment source ascription using magnetic measurements in a reservoir-catchment system near Nijar, S.E. Spain

Auteurs :

Description :
This study is essentially methodological in aim. It proposes and illustrates a simpler approach to quantitative sediment source ascription, in which only the mass specific susceptibility and remanent magnetization measurements are used as the basis for modelling sediment-source linkages. The site used is the infilled Isabel II Reservoir near Nijar, an ideal site to test the potential applicability of this approach to studies of semi-arid areas where accelerated erosion and sedimentation pose major environmental problems.
