Effects on bedload transport of experimental removal of woody debris from a forest gravel-bed stream

Description :
This study, involving experimental removal of all woody debris larger than 1 cm in diameter, quantified the importance of debris with respect to bedload transport. This study also simulated possible effects of land management-related alterations of the naturally occuring distribution of woody debris in streams. The study site is located on Chicagof Island, southeast Alaska.
