Description :
The presence of cavernous and honeycomb weathering on the greenschist outcrop of the south Devon coast has previously been noted. Some of these features lie along the shore just above the intertidal zone where wheathering and denudation of bedrock is rapid. This paper extends these previous studies by investigating cavernous weathering on the higher coastal slopes, some 15-40 m above the shoreline and beyond the direct action of salt spray.
