Relationships between deflation and near surface wind velocity in a coastal dune blowout
Auteur :PLUIS, J. L. A.
Description :
The study presented here investigates the relationship between wind velocity at the nearest standard weather station, Valkenburg, and the rate and frequency of deflation in the blowout situated in the coastal dune area of Meijendel, Netherlands. In addition, this study considers the importance of the wind velocity distribution in determining the pattern of erosion within the blowout. The algal coverage of the soil in the deflation rate is also discussed.
