The land market in Mexico under Salinas : a real-estate boom revisited?

Auteurs :

Description :
The structure of the land market in Mexico for the period 1988-94 is studied. The immediate policies of Salinas, especially the control of inflation, brought about a return to the favourable conditions of real-estate investment that had existed throughout most of the 1970s. But more recent policies and particularly those of economic liberalization may not bode quite so well for those wishing to place a large part of their investment portfolios in real estate.
