The geography of international business telecommunications : the role of leased networks

Auteur :
LANGDALE, J. V.

Description :
Leased networks are a small but important part of international telecommunications, especially for large transnational corporations. Many of these firms, particularly in the banking and finance and electronics industries, view their networks as key elements of their global corporate strategy. The networks use high-speed circuits to link major industrialized countries. There is a competition between countries to become regional hubs for traffic on international networks.
