Description :
The joint German-Chinese expedition for the glacial-geomorphological reconstruction of the Pleistocene glacier cover of Tibet was carried out in the summer of 1989. Glacial-geomorphological sequences and series were analysed at altitudes between 2 700 m and 6 000 m asl. The result is the reconstruction of a complete, ie inland ice-like glaciation of High Tibet between the Tanggula Shan at its Centre and the Himalaya on its S edge.
