Description :
In this article a link between annual global temperature and regional hydrological balance in east central France is demonstrated. Statistical significance and transfer functions are calculated using generally available data (stream discharge and global atmospheric temperatures) as indicators of global and regional climate, and standard statistical methods (ANOVA) and polynomial regression. Palaeoenvironmental data indicate that the regression model retrodicts (predicts the past) Holocene hydrological balance and presumably can be used to predict the effects of changing global energy balance on regional moisture.
