Description :
The aim of this study is to analyze a recent deposition-erosion alternation within a badland area in semiarid South-East Spain. Given the small size of the drainage areas involved, this alternation can be analyzed in terms of hillslope and elementary valley dynamics, while the harsh environment limits human disturbance. The geomorphic analysis is supplemented with a palynological analysis of the valley fills to identify the environmental causes of this alternation.
