Description :
This paper describes the development of a laboratory-based drip-screen rainfall simulator at Coventry University and presents 7 case studies demonstrating its application. Experiments include an evaluation of the water balance of both agricultural and urban surfaces, studies on the effects of both conditioner treatments and grass ley set-aside on soil erodibility, studies on the effects of slope position on aggregate stability, testing assumptions regarding the distribution and transport of radionuclides and an assessment of the role of crusts on erosion processes.
