Variability of soils in urban and periurban areas in Northern Germany

Description :
The soil pattern of urban areas is strongly influenced by human activities. Urban soils are sinks for the aerial dispersion of pollutants and sometimes sources for environmental hazards. Therefore, the aims of this study are : to analyse the properties of soils developed from anthropogenic substrates; to investigate the interrelationship of soils in different urban landscapes (inner city, outer area).
